Ana sayfa / Technology

As Apple continues to innovate and enhance user experiences, new reports suggest that the tech giant is planning to introduce 32- and 42-inch OLED displays by 2027, a major shift in screen technology. Omdia’s latest IT OLED display forecasts, seen by OLEDInfo, claim that worldwide OLED shipments will rise rapidly from around 9.7 million units in 2022 to over 70 million in 2028. Most of this growth will be driven by laptops, but the number of OLED tablets will also increase sharply during this period.

The OLED revolution

Omdia’s forecasts suggest that the majority of this growth will be fueled by laptops, but the number of OLED tablets will also experience a considerable surge during this timeframe.

Apple is expected to lead the charge in this trend, with rumors indicating that the tech giant will start incorporating OLED panels into its iPad lineup, beginning with new iPad Pro models in 2023. Following this, an OLED MacBook Pro is anticipated to launch in 2026. As a result, LCD and mini-LED displays are likely to be almost entirely phased out from Apple’s mobile devices by 2026.

Innovative display technologies on the horizon In 2027, it’s predicted that Apple will adopt QD-OLED or WOLED panels for 32-inch and 42-inch displays, which could potentially be utilized for future iMac or external display models. At present, Apple’s Pro Display XDR is the company’s only product with a 32-inch screen, and there is currently no 42-inch device in the lineup.

This shift towards OLED and newer display technologies demonstrates Apple’s commitment to providing users with cutting-edge screens that deliver superior image quality and an enhanced user experience. As the tech giant continues to innovate and expand its product offerings, it’s clear that OLED and other advanced display technologies will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Apple devices.
